Love, Art and Music
Music is always around for Don J. Since he was a child his family loves music and art. His dad always listening to slow rock and instrumental music that has a big part in Don J's life and his uncle is a painter who taught him how to appreciate visual arts. So, being an artist is in his blood. Way back when Don J is in elementary he plays the xylophone at the school band, this is where Don J's life change. Because being part of the band open his little knowledge for music instruments. And this is a big part of his life because this is why he loves music this is all where it began. When the school has an event, the band where he play is always included and they play a lot of song. And when he steps in to high school, he can play several music instruments like, guitar (bass and rhythm) and can also play drums. He explore many of the instruments. And when something new came up, he works hard to study the instrument and play as hard as he can to play the instrument well. He is not a genius when it comes to music or playing instruments. But his love for music drives him to study and play instruments. And wanted to excell in every way he can. He wanted to be good at playing instruments. While he is exploring his love for his music some friends invited his to do extreme sports and that is skateboarding. He also, excel in playing that sport and while doing that he formed a band and eventually play music at some gigs. Being a skateboard enthusiasts it became his inspiration for doing music. Through skateboarding he meet different kind of people who has different influences with music and went to many places that inspires him to do more music about his travels and experiences. His love for music grows because of gigs he attended and people he chat with. But as time pass the band, disbanded they grew apart and had their different lives. And his music turns into rap songs because music evolves and culture grows around him. He is still skateboarding while he involve himself into poetry writing and verse writing for his rap songs. He met some friends and form a group they called "Mida$". They have been to gigs around Quezon, Province. They had their own tracks and music videos. They write their own songs. It is upload all in YouTube. As time passes, they are together until today, but it is hard for them to perform because of the pandemic.
Through music Don J studies Multimedia Arts to expand his knowledge on how to be creative with music. And Multimedia Arts uses new disciplines of media to unify various art forms—such as text, graphics, sound, animation, pictures, and videos—to produce fresh concepts. With that, artists like Don J can produce quality contents such as digital arts, movies and TV programs. With the combined art and new media technologies, they redefine the meaning of art throughout the years. This course also studies the different forms of media and its technology. Meaning, you can master how you can make them work to your advantage. For instance, you can use social media to make your artworks go viral. Hence, helping you build a better portfolio and gain networks.  Multimedia is defined broadly here, encompassing artworks that involve multiple artistic dimensions, including songs and program music as well as dance and film. Readings about music in songs and musical drama, dance, film, video games, and cartoons will facilitate class discussions in a seminar setting, involving compositional techniques and approaches, as well as issues of aesthetics, interpretation and analysis, and politics of race, gender, and society as demonstrated in the numerous multimedia works we will discuss. Up today he studies Multimedia Arts and learning a lot of skills in terms of all kinds of editing like (photo, video, music and web designing). This course helps him to know the skills he wanted to know and in time he can compose his own music because he learned it in his course. Multimedia Arts involves subjects related to video editing, animation, motion design, and graphic design. You’ll be learning these as you progress through the entire course. Thus, no matter what career you choose, you surely got the edge as a Multimedia Arts student!
